MISSION TRIPS:  The Hope of Jesus Children’s Home currently offers two types of mission trips with distinctly different purposes and goals.  If you are interested in forming a mission team to support our program, please contact us at info@hopeofjesus.org.

Mission WORK Teams: This type of mission trip serves to fulfill an immediate need of the project. The purpose of a Mission Work Team is for team members to understand the work of the children’s home and build relationships with the Honduran people by working side-by-side with us, while reflecting Christ’s love and compassion. Trip length is generally 7 days. Examples of the work include: construction, painting, grounds maintenance, farm maintenance, harvesting coffee, and other types of manual labor. This type of trip is for people who want to get dirty while humbling serving the Lord!

Mission MOBILIZER Teams: This type of mission trip serves to aid in the future development of the project. The purpose of a Mission Mobilizer Team is for team members to receive a thorough orientation to the overall project and our financial needs with the intention of returning to their church or organization to become an advocate for The Hope of Jesus Children’s Home by sharing our mission and vision with others. Trip length is generally 3-4 days. This type of mission trip is designed for clergy and pastors, outreach and mission committee members, and other leaders.

In the future, we plan to offer Youth Mission Trips (age 14- 18). We believe youth play an important and valuable role in fulfilling the Great Commission of Jesus. We also believe the lives of American youth can be dramatically changed when their world view widens and they realize we, as Christians, are part of something much bigger than ourselves. Our future youth trips will have a two-part focus on Bible Study and Service. Under the guidance of their Youth Leader and using the Bible as their textbook, youth team members will learn about God’s love for the poor and needy, Jesus’ example as the ultimate servant, and what it truly means to live a Christian life, all in the context of a cross-cultural setting. Each day they will put their faith into action through various service projects at the children’s home, farm, or in our community, while emulating the character of Jesus.
